It's been a while since I've posted here, and this isn't related to Heavenly Mother at all, but it is related to being gender inclusive in our hymns.
We've sung Hark! The Herald Angels Sing! a few times this Christmas season and I thought I'd change the lyrics so that women no more may die as well.
1. Hark! the herald angels sing
Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild,
God and sinners reconciled!
Joyful, all ye nations, rise;
Join the triumph of the skies;
With th'angelic host proclaim
Christ is born in Bethlehem!
(Chorus)
Hark! the herald angels sing
Glory to the newborn King!
2. Hail the heav'n-born Prince of Peace!
Hail the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all he brings,
Ris'n with healing in his wings.
Mild he lays his glory by,
Born that we no more may die;
Born to raise the souls of earth,
Born to give them second birth.

Fabulous! I like it better than the original! But then I guess that's the whole point ;)
