For the past few years with this blog, I've noticed a resurgence of Heavenly Mother in Mormon blogs during the Mother's Day season. On the Mormon Facebook groups, I saw many reports of Heavenly Mother being mentioned in talks and lessons for Mother's Day.
First, probably the most passed-around Heavenly Mother article was Peggy Fletcher Stack's Tribune article, "A Mormon mystery returns: Who is Heavenly Mother?" Great quotes in the article. Read it!
Real Intent has a post, "Truth Eternal Tells Me I've a Mother There."
As for myself, yesterday in church, I decided to change the hymn lyrics, not just from "Father" to "Parents" but to "Mother" just for the day. Our opening and closing songs were Sabbath Day and Lord, We Ask Thee Ere We Part, which I've already re-written here, but I wanted to share Sabbath Day with "Mother" here.
In sweet remembrance of thy Son,
We gather in thy house as one
To join in prayer, to sing thy praise,
To worship thee and learn thy ways.
Mother, on this the Sabbath day,
Be with us gathered here, we pray.
And may our thoughts still turn to thee,
With loved ones, friends, and family.
In all we do till day is gone,
May worship still continue on.
Mother, on this the Sabbath day,
Be with us in our homes, we pray.
Help each to seek a quiet hour
To read thy word and feel thy pow’r,
To hear thy voice, though small and still,
Renew our strength to do thy will.
Mother, on this the Sabbath day,
Be with us in our hearts, we pray.
Happy Mother's Day!

Heavenly Mother in the Bloggernacle
Heavenly Mother has gotten more "screen time" these past few months. The Mormon feminist corridor of the Bloggernacle exploded! In January, I posted about the Finding Heavenly Mother Project. It's still going on if you want to read the posts or contribute one of your own.
Also of note is the "We Are Daughters" project. Their Facebook page is here, and their blog is here. They are compiling recordings of people reciting the beginning of the YW Theme with the words,
Recently the Exponent did a poll asking everyone when they first heard about Heavenly Mother. There were a lot of comments and were very interesting. Check them out!
I hope everyone's Easter is beautiful this weekend. Happy Good Friday!

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year, everyone!
December 2012 in the Bloggernacle...
Joanna Brooks responded to a question about a concern about gender concerns in the church, including Heavenly Mother, among other issues in her Ask Mormon Girl column.
Nickel in the 'Nacle wrote about reading "A Mother There."
The biggest thing this past month is that over at Poetry Sans Onions, Julia, has started a "Finding Heavenly Mother Project" and is welcoming posts about people's thoughts or creative writing like poetry about Heavenly Mother. I thought some of you readers would be interested in contributing or reading there.
And as we start this year, don't forget the Mother Fast every 3rd Sunday.
If I missed a post, please link in the comments and I'll add it here.

November in Review
I know I didn't do any posts this month. I have some hymns and scriptures in mind for next month, though.
We'll still look at Heavenly Mother in the Bloggernacle this month:
At Patheos, there was a post called, "The Heavenly Mommy Wars," with the line, "At stake in the issue of Heavenly Mother is nothing less than what it means to be a woman." That article really gets at the some of the dilemma Mormonism faces with being silent about Heavenly Mother.
Rachael Rose guest posted at The Exponent about Heavenly Mother and the Paradoxical Embodiment.
The Huffington Post ran Catholics and Mormons: A New Sisterhood in the Struggle for Women's Ordination, which compares and contrasts some of the feminist topics in Catholicism and Mormonism, including the Divine Feminine and Heavenly Mother.
Also, this past month, the BYU Women's Studies Honor Society held a discussion on Heavenly Mother. Anyone there want to share their notes?
Have you seen any other posts this month?
This month has been a reflective month for me. I haven't been posting, but my mind has been on this blog. Next month is the second anniversary of this blog, which means this month is the second anniversary of the idea of this blog. Two years ago, I was really struggling with exactly what that quote from Patheos above gets at. I looked around and saw no reference to any resurrected being being female. Angels mentioned in the Book of Mormon or in Church History were all male. And in current Church organization, women's groups like YW and Relief Society are "auxiliaries," appendages. And while it's nice to have appendages like arms, you don't need one to live. And that's how I was feeling in my relationship with the world. It's nice that I'm around, but not really necessary. There were a few dark days where my existence was really put into question.
Ultimately I decided that I needed to insist on the importance of Heavenly Mother because I needed to insist on the importance of myself and all the other girls and women in this world. And so this blog began. I hit some resistance from commenters and emails early on, and the number of views and followers of this blog are small, but I do really like this little blog and I'll keep on with it. The holidays are upon us and I'm currently "great with child," so I'm continuing without a lot of momentum at the moment. Thanks for staying along for the ride.

September and October in Review
Sorry I've fallen off the planet. Two months this time!
Our Heavenly Parents lead and guide us, hear us, deserve our praise, bless us, and we believe and "yield our hearts" to Them.
It's been a couple of months, so there are lots of Internet links with the mention of Heavenly Mother this time.
Because I didn't link to it last time, Sarah Familia at Times and Seasons posted her, Finding My Heavenly Mother, Part 2 as well as Finding My Heavenly Mother, Part 3.
Rachel at the Exponent includes Heavenly Mother in her testimony.
crazywomancreek at Feminist Mormon Housewives gets political in her observations on how Mitt Romney talks about Ann in the way Mormons refer to Heavenly Mother.
Suzette at the Exponent asks us how Heavenly Mother is mentioned in Primary.
Ask Mormon Girl responds to a question about gender issues, including Heavenly Mother.
In a guest post at fMh, Blossom mentions Heavenly Mother in her faith transition.
In a guest post at the Exponent, Jen mentions feeling Heavenly Mother's presence.
At Zelophehad's Daughters, Apame mentions Heavenly Mother being important to her own identity.
In another guest post at the Exponent, Barbara connects images of Eve to how we think of Heavenly Mother.
There is a new poem on poetry.com that is called "Heavenly Mother of Mine."
Not a Mormon source, but a Christian blog I run into a lot in my google searches for "Heavenly Mother" lists places the blogger feels Heavenly Mother is mentioned in the Bible.
Brad Kramer is interviewed on the fMh podcast and his article on Heavenly Mother was mentioned and linked to.
On Mormon Diaries, Grae writes about Heavenly Mother and how not talking about Her didn't make sense.
ETA: I just found this post at Gently Hew Stone called On Exaltation, Unity, and Heavenly Mother.
So onto November! My husband and I are currently taking our ward's marriage class, which takes up both hours of Sunday School and RS/EQ, so I feel very separated from what everyone else is doing in those classes, so please excuse me if I'm not on top of this this month. It's easier to remember to post when I hear a good scripture in Sunday School to use, but alas, that won't happen this month.

August in Review
We were out of town last weekend, so August in Review wasn't posted on time. Sorry!
Heavenly Mother and Father receive our praises, both birth and give us re-birth, will come, and protect us.
In the Bloggernacle this month:
Mraynes at the Exponent wrote "It Matters" about the visibility of women in scripture and how it affects her daughter, who gave a wonderful talk that used the inclusive "Heavenly Parents" for Primary.
At Times and Seasons, Sarah Familia wrote, "Finding my Heavenly Mother, Part 1." I'm guessing Parts 2 (+?) will be forthcoming.
Rune at Feminist Mormon Housewives gave inclusive-treatment to A Child's Prayer.
It was a slow month, let's hope it picks back up again this fall!

July in Review
Our Heavenly Parents are mindful of all, give us power and love and sound minds, want us to live with them, help us, and simply are.
On the Internet:
mraynes writes that she feels we need to start with Heavenly Mother when it comes to empowering women in the Church in the The Potential of Priestesshood at the Exponent.
Jena mentions Heavenly Mother in her testimony in Believing "Inactivity."
I didn't see a lot of mention of Heavenly Mother this month. With people going on summer vacations and Pioneer Day, it seems to be a slow month. Have you seen any new links this month?

May and June in Review
So for the past couple of months I've been a little missing in action. Lots of things going on at home, but also things are looking up. I was recently released from nursery, so I actually will get a chance to follow the Sunday School and Relief Society lessons. Being in nursery meant that I didn't know where everyone was in the manual and if I wanted to use scriptures from the recent or upcoming lessons, I didn't know where to turn! But now I will!
Our Heavenly Parents nurture us, gave us Christ, and love us.
Heavenly Mother on the Internet
Kelly Ann at the Exponent used the example of wanting more revelation about Heavenly Mother in her post called Pipe Dreams.
5inthebed wrote that the mention of Heavenly Mother in O My Father was calming for her.
Heather wrote about worshipping Heavenly Mother this past Mother's Day.
Mother's Day also brought up some thoughts about Heavenly Mother on SK{ru}SH.
Feminist Mormon Housewives had a fun post of questions to ask children to find out their responses, which included a question about Heavenly Mother.
KRCL did an interview with the editors of the recent Motherhood issue of Sunstone called Heavenly Mother's Day.
Descent lets the pagan-leaning Heavenly Mother-inquiring Mormons know where to go for discussion.
Also, Ask Mormon Girl directly tackled the subject of Heavenly Mother this month.
I know I've missed some. If you know of links from the past few months about Heavenly Mother, leave them in the comments! Happy July!

April in Review
Happy May!
Heavenly Mother and Father gave us Christ, take care of us, hold children dear, accept our temples, give us everything, are our Shepherds, give us commandments, and we are indebted to Them.
This month in the bloggernacle, G at Figuring It Out shares her artwork, including the pieces used in the the new March 2012 Sunstone on Motherhood. There are many articles there about Heavenly Mother.
5inthebed blogged on Easter, how the mention of Heavenly Mother in the hymn O My Father comforted her.
Daughters of Mormonism published an episode, Re-visioning the Garment Symbols, in which the panelists talk about how the garment symbols can point to Heavenly Mother.
Zelophehad's Daughters was a powerhouse this month, starting with the bold, Mormonism has the most Sexist Cosmology of Any Religion, which laments the lack of knowledge about Heavenly Mother (among other things). Then Lynette, in her series of her feminist journey, mentions in parts 3 and 4 her run-ins with Heavenly Mother theology (or lack of).
We are coming up on May and with the American Mother's Day holiday, I predict we will see some more posts this month mentioning Heavenly Mother.

March in Review
Our Heavenly Mother and Father give us agency, rule, are our goal, offered us Christ, and perfect us.
Heavenly Mother on the Internet
The Exponent mentioned Her twice this month, once in the March Visiting Teaching message, and once on the doctrine of equality.
Zelophehad's Daughters did a quick post, Repudiating Sexism.
Like Unto Eve wrote about Speaking up for Mother.
And Jenne speaks about her connection with the Divine Feminine on the Daughters of Mormonism podcast.
This weekend threw me off my groove, but I'll get back on it. I wasn't able to listen to conference Saturday, but I hear that one of the speakers did mention "Heavenly Parents" in a talk. I'll look once the text is up online.

Our Heavenly Mother and Father gave us their son, receive us, speak to us through Christ, receive glory, speak to us in dreams, and we worship them.
Heavenly Mother on the Internet
This month started with a post by LovelyLauren thinking about why the "Heavenly Mother" issue isn't very high on her concerns at the moment.
Like Unto Eve posted for the Mother Fast this month.
At fMh, worthoursalt mentioned that Heavenly Mother is a very important part of her feminism.
At Mother Wheel, the connection between the ruby and the Goddess was discussed and then there was a wonderful post on the Heavenly Mother imagery in the Young Women's program medallion.
Happy New Year!

November in Review
We praise often, serve, give thanks many, many, many, many, many, many times our Heavenly Parents.
Elsewhere in the Internet this month,
Lynette at Zelophehad's Daughter's critiqued The Two Trees and mentions how Heavenly Mother plays in that.
Elisothel at fMh discussed the Feminine Evil and how that is connected to the Feminine Divine in "H" - "E" - "Double Hockeysticks" Part 3.
DefyGravity asks, "Is there Divinity without Motherhood?" at the Exponent II blog.
Jenni at Spiral Grove wrote If Heaven has a Speakerphone about prayer and Heavenly Mother and mentions Heavenly Mother in Everything is Holy Now.
Jena wrote about asking her church leaders to ask for revelation about Heavenly Mother in As a Woman on Fire. Jena's Mother Fast was about overcoming patriarchy this month. Don't forget that the Mother Fast is the third Sunday of every month!
Rixa Freeze mentioned God the Mother in her interview, God Was My Midwife, at Layda-Birth.
We're now in Advent and coming up on a year for this blog! It's been exciting. I hope there will be many more years here. As always, feel free to send in guest posts. I've not been very good about writing articles or essays here lately. Maybe a new year will give me the push I need.

August in Review
Where was I when August flew by?
Our Heavenly Parents love us, are our Gods, gave us our bodies, give us the spirit of prophecy, comfort us, deserve our reverence, are full of glory, and reveal themselves to us.
This month, I also shared a coloring page that I made up for my nursery class titled, "I Have a Body Like Heavenly Mother." The children enjoyed the coloring activity and I'm grateful for the opportunity to help all the children know their divine origins.
Elsewhere in the Bloggernacle...
By Common Consent hosted a quick poll titled, "Are You There, Heavenly Mother? It's Me, BCC."
Daughters of Mormonism published an episode interviewing Jena called, "Every Third Sunday- Fasting for the Goddess." Jena also posted her thoughts about the fast this month about discernment on her own blog.
And Heavenly Mother got a little mention in Apame's The Talk I Always Wanted to Give over at Zelophehad's Daughters.

June in Review
Heavenly Mother and Father help us inspire others, made the trees, are our "refuge and strength", hear and listen to our prayers, are whom we love and believe in, claim us theirs, know the end, give us visions, and call us blessed.
Like I mentioned earlier this month, Daughters of Mormonism did two podcasts on Finding the Divine Feminine (part 1) (part 2). There was also another episode about Symbols of the Divine Feminine.
I also came across this collection of references to Heavenly Mother in Church manuals and publications from 1971-2002, that was gathered this past April. Take a look-through!
At Like Unto Eve this month, there was a post about fasting together for more knowledge about our Heavenly Mother. I think this is a wonderful idea- don't forget that Fast Sunday is coming up!
Where else have you seen Heavenly Mother mentioned this month?

May in Review
We are grateful to our Heavenly Parents, who deliver us, hear our prayers, love the children, do wonders and works, and are God and Goddess of the living, know our hearts, grant us authority, and we know them through Christ.
This has been quite the month for Heavenly Mother on the Internet! In fact, for Mother's Day, Joanna Brooks asked, "Is Heavenly Mother Making a Comeback in Mormonism?" And in response, the Bloggernacle shouted, "Yes!"
There was a new BYU Studies article, A Mother There, which discusses the history of references to Heavenly Mother in the Church. I used quotes from it in my Mother's Day talk. It also spurred a Mormon Matters podcast, Heavenly Mother in Today's Mormonism and my own review.
There is a new podcast called Daughters of Mormonism and it has addressed the Heavenly Mother concept in a few podcasts: More Than Mothers, Not Perfect: Sara's Mother's Day Talk, and others.
Also, at Keepapitchinin, there was a post about the hymn "Our Mother in Heaven" and there's a link to an audio file where you can listen to it.
Let's get ready for June! I'm going to be out of Internet access for a few days, so this will be a slow week.
